About the Author

Liam was born in Central Europe and has since lived and worked in 11 countries on several continents. He has always been engaged in creative pursuits, ranging from photography and graphic design, to writing short stories and blogs, to working in theatre and contemporary circus shows.

In 2016, Liam published his first book and memoir, Paralian – not just transgender.

Since then, he has been active in other writing pursuits. And has had regular appearances – virtual, live, and on TV – as a transgender speaker/panelist for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

“My aim is to live life to the fullest. To be present. And to not avoid any challenges coming my way but rather to face them straight on and learn as much as I can from them.
Finding the path of living my true self has been a long journey of adversity. From when I first instinctively knew I was a boy at 3 years old – to consciously understanding who I am at 23 years old – to transitioning and then spending a whole lifetime trying to make it in a world which is not always open-minded towards, and safe for, a transgender man.
Yet, I never let these challenges keep me from going exactly where I wanted when I wanted. And ended up living all over the world in different cultures.

Life is ours to be lived and to unapologetically be our best selves.

And, whilst we each follow our unique path not taken, it is important to always be kind, respectful, and compassionate towards ourselves and others.”
